Newtown Neurotics Live! On Tour, well almost.

Well, a strange thing has happened, we have added three more dates to our small list of appearances this year but these are remarkable for us because they are one after another which constitutes to what is know in the trade as a tour, albeit a very small one.
We don't have an agency booking our dates and we don't look for work, we only appear when we are approached and when the right combinations of things come together to encourage us to commit to.
So that makes a tour an unlikely thing but there you go it's happening and I am really looking forward to it. One of the reasons being, with original drummer Simon Lomond back it the band, it will give us a chance to relive being on the road together like old times. We had some fantastic times touring in the past and I am just so glad we are able to do it again for a short while. We are actually doing a two date tour of Ireland in May but this new batch of dates is one more than the Irish stint.

Anyway, below is a list of dates both Newtown Neurotics and Steve Drewett will be doing this year.

Let's Kick Out The Tories! Neurotics gig, 10th April at the Pipeline London

         It's time this evil Tory cult were removed from power, they didn't even win the election last time, this time they must be completely removed. Come and join us as we let forth the rage that we feel for the Tories and their friends, the rich elite, that they are reshaping this country for. They are trying to turn the working class and the un(der)employed into neutered slaves and what we need right now is anger and votes in the ballot box to kick them out of power and then we need to do more, so much more to redress the rape of the security that our society provides for us through the NHS and the Welfare State.

The Newtown Neurotics first gigs in Ireland

It's been a very long time but...the Newtown Neurotics will finally be playing in Ireland. Something we have always wanted to do but never got around to it.
I remember when our first two singles "Hypocrite" and "When The Oil Runs Out" came out, legendary Irish DJ Dave Fanning would play them (don't know how we found out he was) and I would lay in bed at night in my flat listening to his show on the radio (just like I did in the Sixties when I was a kid) and it would fade in and out like Radio Luxembourg used to. I used to imagine the radio waves being blown back and forth over the Irish sea but finally after a heroic struggle it would make it to 161 Spencers Croft. I hear that Dave Fanning is still DJing which is brilliant.
